I totally understand the feeling of incongruity. Snow is almost as rare in Texas, and we had it last week too. Sat and watched the snow fall out the window while on the phone with my daughter as she prepared to evacuate her apartment in LA. Glad you enjoyed a moment of magic.
Thanks for this! I'm in my native Houston, where we also experienced the startling snow -- and I felt a similar thrill with the cold, the nature. Having lived in northern cities for much of the last 20 years, I was also surprised to find that snow -- not just a swamp flurry -- really happened this time. All the best.
I’m disturbed by your description of New Orleans, your husband’s hometown and now your children’s home. Why are you here if it’s just “more violence, more death, more pain?” Gun violence, terrorist attacks, extreme weather — these are not New Orleans problems, these are American problems. I also struggle with this city, as most New Orleanians do, but never once do I think this is “just how things are here.” There are so so many people trying to lift up and change this town for the better. Why can’t you be one of them?
What makes you think that I’m not? New Orleans is the most dysfunctional and violent city I’ve lived in. This is my experience. Why the harsh judgment? .
Those photos! Holy smokes it’s hard to believe that’s New Orleans.
I know, so crazy
Fun! Love it! 😍
Thank you!
lovely piece
Thank you, Andrew
